Settings: Advanced
If you open your remote Settings window, you
can customize the advanced features of your remote:

Volume Sensitivity
If you're pressing the Volume + or Volume - buttons, and the volume is
changing too fast or two slow for your tastes, you can move this slider
to adjust the speed with which the volume changes.
Repeat Delay & Repeat Rate
Many of your remote buttons are similar to a keyboard buttons, and when
you hold down a button long enough it will "repeat" that button
action continuously. Here you can set the amount of delay before the button
starts to repeat ("Repeat Delay"). You can also set how quickly
the button repeats after it is held down continuously ("Repeat Rate").
Mouse Mode
Most of the time, the arrow buttons on your remote will work just like
arrow buttons on your keyboard, and the OK button works like the "Enter"
button on your keyboard. This is useful for things like navigating DVD
menus or file folders. However, sometimes you need to control your mouse
cursor to perform more complex operations. To do that, you have to be
in Mouse Mode. You can enter Mouse Mode by checking this box, or you can
use a Macro button to toggle Mouse Mode On/Off
using your remote.
When you're in Mouse Mode, you use the OK button to simulate a mouse "left-click"
and the EXIT button to simulate a mouse "right-click".
Hyper Mouse Mode
If you want to move somewhere quickly with the mouse, you can enter "Hyper
Mouse Mode" by pressing in a particular direction twice. For example,
to move the mouse cursor up, tap the up button and immediately press it
again (holding it down) and the cursor will move quickly up the screen.
This might take a little practice but it's worth it if you use the mouse
a lot. Note that you must first be in Mouse Mode in order to activate
Hyper Mouse Mode.
Once you are in Hyper Mouse Mode, you will stay in this mode until you
do not move the mouse cursor at all for about a second. This allows you
to move in any direction without having to "double-press" in
order to enter Hyper Mouse Mode again. If you want to get really fancy,
you can actually exit Hyper Mouse Mode without waiting by simply pressing
the "OK" (left-click) button.
Enable Power Button
If you want to, you can use the Power button (the red button on the top
left of your remote) to make your PC go into standby mode. This is great
if you're listening to music before you go to sleep and you don't want
to get up to stop the annoying buzz of your PC fan. But keep in mind that
once your PC is off, you can't turn it back on using your remote. Why?
Because the USB infrared receiver needs power to detect signals from your
remote (You can wake up your PC using your keyboard or mouse because USB
ports supply a tiny amount of power that only super-low-power peripherals
can use to wake up the PC).
Turn off screen saver when any button is pressed
If you check this box, it will make your screen saver go away if it's
on when you press a remote button. That way you can see what you're doing
with your remote even if you've been away from the PC for a while.
Automatically bring background windows to the front
NOTE: This does not work on all versions of Microsoft Windows
You may have noticed that your remote control will only control the program
that's in the foreground (the window's title bar is highlighted). When
you check this box, if your media player is in the background, AND the
current foreground window is not recognized by your remote control, then
the background media player window will be automatically brought to the
front so that you can control it with your remote.
